It might be of great concern to you as a parent if you find that your kids don't like sports. This is because most after school activities involve sports. This applies to both boys and girls. Boys have a plethora of sports activities they can partake in. For girls, participating in sports such as soccer, field hockey, basketball, or volleyball are very commonplace. Parents love it when their kids partake in sports because their children get to compete, win awards, and make their parents proud. Parents love the bragging rights, but they also really want their kids to be active. There's no doubt that when kids are active in sports, they are healthier kids overall.
However, some parents will find there are kids in the family who have no interest in sports. The kids might be too small, or too sickly, and they are afraid of getting hurt. Or, the kids simply aren't concerned in sports. Kids who aren't concerned in sports tend to be very thoughtful, sensitive, or simply uninterested in being active and sweaty. Some parents might worry about children such as these, because they want their kids to be active, and to have a way to stay healthy, and at a salutary weight. They don't want to see their kids hanging colse to the house, eating too many snacks, gaining weight, and being unproductive. So what does a parent who realizes their kids don't like sports do to live with this situation?

There are other activities for kids to partake in that are sports-like, but aren't sports as they might think it. For example, girls can join dance teams. Dance is carefully an athletic activity, but it's so much fun, girls won't think it to be too hard to accomplish. Boys can do things such as skateboarding, inline skating, or swimming. There are a host of activities kids can partake in that will keep them active, and yet aren't as scary as original sports.
